Los Angeles Mefis: How about a meetup?
Being a newish member, it'd be cool to meet some of the other posters.

I would 80% make it... I would also throw out The White Horse in Hollywood/Thai Town as locale. It's not that close to me, but it is close to the 101, and it is never, ever crowded. Yet it has couches and free snacks, generally including hot dogs around midnight.

I'm down. I know lots of places in LA or OC for a meetup, and it doesn't need to be a bar or restaurant. We have cool parks, too.
Mega-request: Can we choose some place accessible from the Metro rail system? It'd be fun to run amok on the rail system with a bunch of MeFites and hit up a few things.
Pasadena has all kinds of cool stuff, not excluding the Rose Bowl arroyo park area. There's also museum row in the Wilshire district, or MOCA or other museums downtown. (MOCA currently has a surprisingly accessible show called Visual Music that's pretty much all about synaesthesia in the visual arts, or the influence of music on visual arts.)

loquacious, don't you know everyone drives alone in their own car in Los Angeles? What is this 'rail' thing you speak of? Didn't you ever watch Swingers?
That all said, I may roll thru depending on the when/where.

I might join in, depending on time/location. I'm rather dependent on public transportation: I make it a personal statement to survive without a car in the LA area. Seems to work just fine. This 'rail thing' works just fine, surprisingly.

Since I imagine we're all from different parts of L.A., how about meeting at manhattan beach? Nice place to walk around, and there are a number of restaurants/cafes to choose from, foodwise. The air even smells like air there! lol.
As for dates, how is this holiday monday for people?

Oops - late to the party again.
I'd love to come, but this weekend is out for me. Anyone in for next week?

Monday is fine by me. But maybe someone here should just pick a date, time, and place for further in the future--a month' or two's notice would be good--and just post that as a new metatalk post. Be bold, be daring! :-)
