Callout for Great Post March 8, 2005 7:08 AM Subscribe
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed grouse's post yesterday on London Underground maps. It was informative, well-written, well put together, and - well - just generally full of goodness. Thank you, grouse!
Best thing I've seen on here in a long time.

I think he got a little carried away with labelling the links, personally.

Oh god, I just saw
The Way Out-> map's clever, easy to use system shows you which carriage to board to arrive right opposite the platform exit at your destination.
I think I'm gonna cream.

And thank you, Carter, for using MeTa for something positive!

I agree! Meta is sort of like customer service repping. You have to listen to tons and tons of bitching, so the occasional attaboys are a really nice change.

Thank you, LarryC, for your gracious acknowledgement of this constructive use of MeTa.

This is when we break out the lemon cookies and tequila, right?
(Nicely done, grouse. I actually have most of those maps on the laptop, and never thought to meld them into an uberpost.)

Actually, I'm grateful that this post was such a standout. If all Mefi posts were on this level, I'd never, ever, get away from this place.

I totally had no idea what was going on, but somehow it entertained me, nonetheless. Quite funky to explore all those links!
Therefore: Yay for grouse!

Holy shit. I never expected all the praise in the blue, and I certainly never expected to get a positive callout for it here. You guys are too kind. You have made my day.

I'm strangely compelled to point out that grouse is actually a member of the International Chicken Genome Sequencing Consortium and therefore wildly attractive to me, in both the platonic and ionic sense.

I didn't even click on the links (having seen several of them before and never having been to London in the first place) and I still thought it was a great post.

It is a great post, and it makes me wonder: Can we ever have cross-referenced links from AskMe to MeFi, based on tags or something? This would be great the next time someone asks about London.
