And lo, when the spammers did rear their ugly heads, the valiant Sir RichardP did smite them. Mighty was his sword, and thus was the Kingdom of Wiki spared the ugly wrath of pr0n.

(where's the "accolades" category?)

I'd link to your real user profile, but I'm not sure which Richard P you are. Thank you for your work!

Anyone who makes pr0n (infinitessimally) less accessible is no friend of mine.

I have no idea what this post is about.

Although I can guess, kind of vaguely, that there was some spam on the Wiki. It's a guess, but it's all we have since THE POST CONTAINS NO INFORMATION.

I know what this post is about. The wiki gets pretty well swamped with spam on a regular basis, but RichardP seemingly never tires of cleaning it up. He's like a machine.

Thanks for keeping that site usable.

Thanks to RichardP for his work and to Galvatron for the explanation.

I went over there (to the current status section of the wiki) to see what was up with the JRun nonsense the other morning, and it was all filled with pr0ncrap, so I got rid of it... but I didn't know how to revert to the previous info., so I just left the html on the page...

when I went back later, I saw that RichardP had fixed it, I was happy. And then I realized from looking at all the prior revisions, that he appears to be the caretaker.

So thanks, dude.

Wikis are great, but they require a certain level of trust, and linkspammers and other shady people will always try to take advantage...

I remember reading about Wikipedia, and how they have rotating shifts to remove the garbage from the site, and they are incredibly effective at it, fixing posts within minutes.

RichardP is our rotating shift!

this is why we can have nice things. I had no idea you existed before this post, and I rarely ever use the mefi Wiki, Richard, but you da man.
