The fabled Jessamyn will be in town, so the DC MeFi Cabal met and decided on a time and place to convene. Come join us! Meet fellow geeks! Hey, maybe something like this will happen again!

Time: Sunday, May 22, starting at 6:00 pm (late comers welcome)

Place: Galaxy Billards Café in Silver Spring. I hear tell they have a good selection of food and beer, and it’s a smoke-free environment, to boot.

Galaxy Billiards is a good place. Plenty of tables, good pub grub, tasty beverages, and buttons on the tables to summon the wait staff. Sundays the place is usually empty, so shouldn't be hard to get tables. The place is below ground though, so look for it on the side of the complex where Noodles & Company and Ben & Jerrys is. I think Galazy is right next to the noodle place across the street from Barnes & Borders.

I'm in too, and also taking a head-count, just in case this grows to a huge group, so that the staff at Galaxy will be prepared. They will know to direct people to the MeFi table/s. (Galaxy is fairly cavernous.)

amandaudoff: The new "Downtown Silver Spring" has at least 2 parking garages serving it.

If you use these directions you will want to take a right on Fenton after you cross Georgia Ave (a little further than the pushpin shows). Take another right on Ellsworth Drive and Galaxy's will be on your right.

The map on that page makes it look like Galaxy is where the AFI theater is. May be old information for the City Place Mall. Still helpful, as it has street names. Thanks!

Ok it just sunk in that I spend way too much time on MeFi, considering I unconsciously placed a meetup higher than other post graduation activities... (and I still think it will be cool...)
