LA Meetup reminder! As per this bug report, I thought I might post a last minute reminder where it may be seen. Per SpaceKitty:

May 18 at 7 pm at Guelaguetza
3014 W Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90006-2516
(213) 427-0608

Predictably, under the name "Matt". Barring unforeseen circumstances, I will be there

[shortened up the post a bit, hope that's okay]

Reservations are for 10, under Matt's name. There will be live music, so I've requested a table in a quieter spot. Hope to see you all there!

I borrowed the car from the gf, so i'll actually be there on time, barring horrendous traffic on the 10E...

See you in a few!

See you soon, with DaShiv in tow.

THE HEAVY HAND OF MODERATION MUST BE STOPPED!

WHAT

THE

FUCK

JESSAMYN?

(also, I will be wearing an image of The Cheat on a black sweatshirt, or if it is too warm, a white ring-t with a sort of "dangerous waste" looking glyph in red on it)

OH SNAP JESSAMYN WHAT DID YOU DO. The man had a period at the end of his sentence!

See you soon, with DaShiv in tow.

In prison that would be considered a threat.

The man had a period at the end of his sentence!

Well, at least we know he didn't get knocked up in jail.

Okay, okay, I'm leaving the house now.

Nice to meet ya's all last night. I arrived late, left early, and disappointed the crowd with my lack of masturbating walrus footage.

Despite all this, the evening was not ruined. I look forward to hearing of the adventures that continued after I fled the scene.

Reservations are for 10 20

I also had a great time, but ran out of batteries before i could get pictures of everyone there...there were half a jillion cameras there though, so I'm sure there will be pictures soon enough.

I look forward to hearing of the adventures that continued after I fled the scene.

I heard something about a brass monkey and karaoke...but was too chicken to follow through.

Great fun indeed (though I, unlinke schyler, was actually sort of horrified by the abundance of cameras). A crew of us did wind up going over to Brass Monkey (...that funky monkey), but contented ourselves with watching the karaoke rather than taking part.

'contented ourselves with watching the karaoke rather than taking part.'

That's just because the didn't play any U2 songs!

/injoke

Good times, great meeting everyone. I live in fear of look forward to seeing yet more documentation of my public drunkenness.

jonson: Where were you and your masturbating walrus?

My batteries died after three pictures, this is all I've got...

It was extremely awesome to meet all of you. I'll make a point to pressure my wife into taking a residency in the LA area. I will also make the goal of attending a meetup in every state. Two down, several to go!

I had so much fun last night that I went out tonight with the NYC contingent to see the newest offering from His Dark Lord George Lucas (*waves* to Plutor, who is at this moment actually at Denny's trying to find a plate of vegetables). Props to DaShiv and everyone else for mad fotograf skillz. It was spectacular to meet you all! (And SpaceKitty, it wasn't that there weren't any U2 songs to sing at Brass Monkey... it's just that I didn't want to compromise my journalistic objectivity! Heh.)

oh, and also: splatta, I certainly hope you blogged our impromptu faux-Tom Waits lyrics-on-a-napkin we tipsily came up with at some point, because I certainly can't remember them.... something about Chinatown shoes? (Yep, it was a fine evening!)
