Owner of FPP'ed Flickr set: "I'm 19." FPP author: "Age: 19" Inconclusive. Likely coincidence.
Owner of FPP'ed site: "Copyright 2005 Aaron Wynn & William Wynn." (google cache) FPP author: "Aaron Wynn" (home page) Conclusive. Enough.

That being said, I have no problem (in principle) with FPPs to clinical-looking photosets of nude women. Or men.

So, do you do this much snooping for every FPP, or just ones with nekkid chicks?
posted by Jimbob at 2:55 AM on July 11, 2005

If those are the only acceptable answers: just ones with nekkid chicks. (I think I may have missed a few nekkid chicks FPPs, though; if you could point them out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.)

I kiss you, mistersix. I saw the link to this callout in the original thread and thought "will this be fundamentalist outrage at naked bodies or (more likely) some sort of tenuous feminist complaint?" But it turns out that you were so very right.

Looks like the inconclusive one was the one deleted, not the open-and-shut one.

The inconclusive one was live and front page and the other one was back in the archives. A look at the guy's blog shows he's all about the AdSense too. I dropped him an email letting him know that this is a big time no-no.

Good detective work!

I too would appreciate being aprised of any "nekkid chicks" FPP's I may have missed.

I wish I knew myself where this all came from. If you have a link please do post.

To be fair, however, the profile page on Flickr shows the guy as 19 and living in Australia whereas our Aaron lives in Anaheim. Is the 19-age thing and the previous self link all you got? I didn't pull the FPP but it does seem like a tenuous link. That said, there's now a Leftover Lunch link right on the main page of his blog.

Hey arkine, from your blog:

dunno => don't know

Anyways => anyway ("anyways" is nonstandard)

hehe => heehee (if it's laughter you're trying to textualize)

Kinda kewl cuz => kind of cool because

Not to shabby => Not too shabby

I like those numbers. => I apologize to the MetaFilter community for being an asshat chowderhead and I promise never to return under any circumstances or new usernames. *publicly flails self*

Pretty much. At FPP time, the Flickr profile only said "I'm 19" - nothing about Australia, no links. And the photoset said nothing about SomethingAwful - there was no explanation at all. Seemed strange that it was posted to Flickr, then MeFi, within 1 hour.
posted by mistersix at 9:45 AM on July 11, 2005

I know about the site in the archives. I was about that a month ago and cut it. I don't know why you guys think I own the flickr gallery link today. It was sent to me via IM from a friend and I posted it upon finding it. Simple as that. You mention I'm all about the ad sense but I have never posted a link that contained any AdSense to MeFi. I could not have possibly profited in any way off off that link.

Ummm... I think that's my next door neighbor... and "she" is not quite all there :-)

Anyway, the Leftover Lunch link was a self link. I was involved in that site. You can burn me at the stake if you like (or just ban me). I deserve it. I'll admit it.

The Flickr post was something a friend sent over last night that I thought might get some interesting discussion. Guess it did in a much different way. ;-)

Ban me if you must. I don't think I have much to add to this. Thats my defense. Thats my story.

A 'hee' is quantitatively and qualitatively different from a 'heh', in my considered opinion.
posted by stavrosthewonderchicken at 8:44 PM on July 11, 2005

I second stavros. heehee is more giggle than laugh, but then again hehe (same as heh heh?) is less laugh than hohoho, IMHO (very bad pun intended).

Not much of a defense *or* a story for the self-link in May. "I admit it"? Admit what? That you knew the guidelines and shit on the site anyway? How marvelous of you.

You deserve a week's vacation. May wasn't that long ago.

Well, I'm glad I saw the flicker link, because it rocks.

It's to bad some cool things must be destroyed due to blind obedience to the rules. Perhaps "self links" could stay, with the user getting a timeout if the link really is pretty cool, in the future?

A hee is also the Thai word for a woman's naughty parts.

Just sayin'.

vagina

hallelujah! A previously insoluble mystery explained!

also, dear arkine, for your sake, I hope you really are only 19, because that means you still have about 2-6 years (depending on your mental flexibility) until you completely solidify into an impervious hunk of stoopid.

And just in case you were ever thinking of yourself as "precocious" (look it up), trust us, you're not. If you start now, after a few years of study, you may be able to reach the level of some of our actually precocious 15/16-year-olds. Or, just keep moving... there are about a billion places on the internet for 19-year-olds who think they are the shit.
