Richmond VA Meetup

There was some mild interest in a Richmond meetup. Seeing how we just embarassed ourselves on a global level, maybe now would be a good time to get together and commiserate?

I can email rainbaby, since I've talked to her about a meeting before. I dunno how active the other people are about checking MetaTalk or MeFi in general.

Maybe we should start throwing out places to meet? Penny Lane, Avalon, Legend, Capitol Ale House, Mojo's, The Village... I think most of those places can seat a decent-sized party and are relatively subculture-neutral.

They only list soft drinks on the website. I'll call when they open. I have beers there too, but I haven't been there in a long time.

The wraps at Mojo's are hella-tasty. Mmm.

For those who've never been: it's a take-out place with a bar. They don't put teh booze on the site because they don't deliver it.

Sunday at 6, that's good for me. How do we know who's a MeFi user? The secret code is Flying Spaghetti Monster.

My humble apologies. I figured there must be a Richmond somewhere in both Australia and New Zealand but ran out of google juice (dogs to be walked, meals to be cooked) so blithely hit post with an incomplete list. I also left out other parts of Australia, Canada, Jamaica, South Africa and many others. Sigh.

Less people than we had expected to see actually showed up, but it was great to meet Alt F4, rainbaby and lalalana. We have had cameras, three of them. Alt F4 is on dialup and as such said we may not soon see the pictures he took. Rainbaby said hers might take a few days, too. I'm working on mine and will post 'em to Flickr in a bit.

Were the rest of you lot at home playing with your new iBooks or something?

Flickr was giving me trouble (curse you, pro users with your unlimited albums and your fancy cars) so I sent them to .Mac instead.

I went at 6 and didn't see anyone that looked suspicious enough (or that I would now recognize from the photos). I probably should've waited longer but the crowd was kind of getting on my nerves and the bartender ID'd me (and I didn't have my ID)(and I'm 33 freakin' years old) so I had a diet coke at the bar and then left. I got to enjoy the anticipation anyway...

I can link, but I can't figure out how to Name the links so they don't just appear as the long web addresses. Can anyone help? john m, I totally saw you getting into your car talking on your cell phone. I was getting out of mine.
