We've got another Metafilter user appearing on Jeopardy! My nearby neighbor (which is why I discovered it), Candyland. Woohoo!

That's great, Candyland! Did you win? you can tell us...no one reads metatalk.

Whoo hooo! Good Luck! (I hope she does well, esp... since years ago I witnessed an acquaintance's .... um, to put it nicely - "not do so well" on that show. Oh, it was painful to watch.)

We'll be cheering for you.

Where can I chip in a few bucks?

I guess we can't say "good luck"; but I assume she wouldn't advertise it on her website if she had bombed completely, so maybe congratulations are in order. Even if she didn't win outright, a respectable performance on national television is no small thing. Way to face the beast.

Woo woo, congrats!

Wow, this is my closest brush with game show fame since a friend of mine bombed on Win Ben Stein's Money a few years ago. I hope your outing went better, candyland.

Well if I understand correctly there's no point in "good luck" since most shows you see were taped long ago.

Dreama did Jeopardy too, so this makes three. Have there been any others?

The link yeoz posted has several people commenting that they were on, though at least one was on before metafilter was a gleam in Matt's eye.

ubiquity was on Jeopardy this week, I believe.

Man, that ubiquity is everywhere!

Oh, c'mon. You were all thinking it!

I was on Jeopardy a little over a year ago. I lost.

What are you talking about? I appear on Jeopardy every day!

my closest brush with game show fame since a friend of mine bombed on Win Ben Stein's Money a few years ago.

When I was at UCLA, my coworker was named Ben Stein and one day the show called because they were doing an all-Ben Stein edition with two other Ben Steins. My coworker, though a smart guy, was the first one to go out.

I did Jeopardy in '97.

I came in second. I won a trip to Toronto.

Good times.

Last I heard, she was enjoying the employee discount at the Old Country Buffet in Ocala.

Dammit. I'm watching it now and have 10 minutes left. But I was so impressed during the show that I looked for the post. Awesome job!!!

I happened across Jeopardy this morning, remembered this thread and found it. She's leading roughly $16k to 14k at the end of Double Jeopardy.

Congrats to Candy! She came from behind to win her first game after everyone missed the Final Jeopardy question. Unfortunately, she lost the lead in her second when the same thing happened.
