Spammer callout of preemption and aggression.

Man, I was just about to post this.

Key tip-off? Calling Milosevic "she".

I dunno, the bad English wasn't really a red flag on its own... it was mainly the posting of a single, inane, bad-English comment in each consecutive thread.

...And the whore website.

Hm...that's some track record of comments. I know preempting has been a bit overboard lately - maybe emailing Matt/Jessamyn is the better choice when there's no real transgression yet. I know it looks pretty obviously a storm-a-comin' in this case but innocent 'til proven guilty still has merit.

Is there a policy in place yet where this sort of person's FPPs can be put in quarrantine for moderation before they hit the front page?

And projects and AskMeFi - no, no quarantine policy I've ever heard of, but maybe there should be a probation caveat on the signup and/or posting page like -
"site owner reserves the discretionary right to require vetting of posts by a site moderator before the posts go live" or similar.

Argh, posting useless noise in AskMe too...

I don't think it's at all unreasonable to have a "Your first FPP to the Blue must be approved" policy. It wouldn't necessarily eliminate all the self-links, because we couldn't expect Matt and Jess to do the in-depth legwork that it sometimes takes to sniff them out, but it'd probably help.

What percentage of new signups actually start making FPPs shortly after they join, I wonder?

I love her. She's like my Ukrainian roommate from college. Let's keep her for the memories:

"Waugh! Bill! You want to watch movie? The Eddie, he rent Harrison Ford movie 'Retarded Henry'!"

Crap. Just came here to do this callout, too...

I wrote her [?] an email basically making sure she knew the rules and put the account on temporary timeout status until I could make sure she was a real person and not a spambot since the noise in AskMe was increasing fast. I'll check in in a few hours and see if I hear back or if it's just another spambot bites the dust.

We've been getting a ton of spammers, spammer callouts, and false positives lately. Maybe we should just be able to flag people as noise.
