I'm calling myself out.... April 19, 2006 5:09 AM Subscribe
I feel as though I may have erred by posting this. After having a good look around the site in question, I decided that whilst there was much 'subscription only' content, there was enough free content to warrant a post to the front page. A number of people have disagreed in-thread, claiming that the page is essentially spam. So I'm calling myself out, so that if the mods decide that it is, infact, spam, they can delete it ASAP.
It's kind of useless, but I've seen worse here that didn't get taken down. *shrug*
If forced to choose, I'd probably pull it, but note that I didn't care enough to bother flagging it. :)

As I've said in the thread, it's a great FPP -- if only as a bizarre example of sexual insecurity marketing.

I don't think their target market is going to find the site through Metafilter. And it's funny how transparent it is. Good post.

It's nice that you brought your own sword to throw yourself on, but I'm not sure it's all that dramatic.
Still, this MeTa saves someone else using less flattering terms to describe the post. Decorum ho!

I think it's a bizarrely interesting post, the real or designer pussy page alone makes it worth it. Whether it will spawn any worthwhile discussion is a completely other matter.

Now, I hadn't seen that link, jess. I may have to retract my -1 vote.

Actually, I would like that page better if I had discovered it later in the day. I'm in love with women's naughty bits, but not in the early morning. I have the same problem with the concept of a topless donut shop-- please get those out of my face until I wake up a bit more, please.

I think it's an interesting study about marketing. Problem is some people apparently thought you were posting just about the naughty bits. But oh well, I wouldn't delete it. Jessamyn posted about penises as well.

Nobody does the self-callout like Miguel.
I must say, doing the research to find that reminded me of how annoyed I used to get with our loquacious Portuguese friend. He really did post whatever popped into his head to MetaTalk. And this self-analysis is a bit frightening:

it's very difficult for a writer to stop. On MetaFilter what I do is essentially break up putative articles or chapters into comment-sized chunks. I can't help it: I'm programmed to write at least 5,000 words on any topic.

Mayor Curley, you have pretty much made my day. And it's only 9! Thank you.

I am boggled by the idea that there's any moment in the day where I would not want to see breasts.
Certainly there are times when I am less able to appreciate them and might wish to have had a chance to better enjoy them later, but "get those out of my face?" Never.

I agree with you phearlez, but sadly, I cannot say the same thing about the vagina.

Is his latest novel out, and does it revolve around an online community called (in Portuguese) 'InterSieve' or something of the kind?
I still wonder if he was using us for research. He added a lot to the place, though (something that was fiercely debated (remember the 'you're just a miguelista' smear?)), so I don't really mind if he was.

If the mods decide that this is spam, then I'm willing to wear a time out, if the mods so decide it. If the post stands, however, well, that would be pretty good too, I think.
