Portland Meetup proposal: The Harvey Girls (of whom I'm now part!) are playing at Valentines (232 SW Ankeny) Weds. December 6th. 9:30ish. More inside!

It's the Harvey Girls' first show in Portland, and my first show playing with them (on banjo, backup vocals, and maybe some snare drum)!

It's also specklet's birthday, I think!

And we'll have meficomp CDs!

The only tricky bit is that Valentine's is having a bouquet-making class (or something) from 6-8 that night, so if we want to have a pre-show meetup kickoff earlier than 8:30 or so, we'd need to meet somewhere else. Ideas?

And if that timing just completely sucks, other suggestions are welcome. Let's have a meetup, regardless! (But you know you want to see The Harvey Girls in action.)

I do wish Portland, OR folks would realize there's another Portland in the country filled with enthusastic MeFites eagerly awaiting a meetup, who get hella-annoyed when we find out (after much digging in the thread) that you're talking about the other side of the fucking country.

You know, C_D, as a repeat visitor to Portland, ME, even I know that there's no place named Valentines, much less Ankeny St., in that wonderful city. Also, just post a MeFi meetup notice for Portland, ME yourself, you goddamn pussy.

It is ethically imperative to mention that including dear cortex there are only three of us and we don't have a drummer, so you'll be getting a stripped down acoustic folky experience, not your balls rocked off. If that's not your idea of a good time that is okay, we'll see you some other day (for instance maybe the 24th -- thanks for the heads up, cmonkey).
