Best of the Top 6751 - 8750 Blogs

Seems to me there would be something sad and pathetic about winning such an award.

Aylward has been threatening people with lawyers.

He's part of the "Pajamas" empire, too. Is there really any good reason to help him in his annual exercise in link-whoring?

Is this the wizbang awards from a couple years ago? How'd they claim to be the biggest award out there? The bloggies have to be bigger, going back seven years.

I don't know what this means, but it sounds kind of fun.

I would like to be part of a pajama empire. If I can not find one, I will start one.

Will it be the footsie kind of pajama empire?
'Cause I will be so on board if is.

James Wolcott on Pajamas Media:

I don't understand why someone as politically keen as The Nation's David Corn would lend his name to the editorial board of Pajamas Media, the greatest assembly of conservative deadbeats since Jonah Goldberg's last fondue party. What an illustrious roster of ideological utensils make up Pajamas' masthead: Michael Barone...John Podhoretz...Tim Blair...By allowing his name to be slated on the editorial board, Corn is letting himself be used as a figleaf enabling Pajamas to pretend that it's a bipartisan effort instead of what it so flagrantly is, a neocon popstand.

Does Corn really want to be associated with fun blogs like Little Green Footballs and Gates of Vienna ("At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war")? I guess he does, because he'll be appearing on a panel at Pajamas' gala conference in November in Manhattan, where Roger L. Simon and company will break out the ginger ale and announce their new monicker. Then everybody will adjourn to invade Syria, if they can arrange transportation.

"Sleepy Soundly" would make a great battle-cry for a racist retro comic book villain. The Yellow Sleeper, or The Chinese Sandman, or something.

He'd bust into a bank wearing a gasmask, pump an old-fashioned aerosolizer a few times, and, as we see the clerks wobble and doze behind the bars, he'd cackle through the narcotic fumes: "Sleepy soundly!"

Prediction: Pajama Media stablemate Little Green Footballs "wins", twiddling their thumbs and noses at us. Since we never visit that vaunted emporium of truly bombastic kookery, we don't even really notice or care.

We do, however, notice the influx of n00bs, of which the truly clueless among provide us all with a small measure of light entertainment and keep Matt aggravated but honest. The remainder - after a brief hazing incident and no small amount of kippers and fresh pants - join our hale, hardy and swelling membership to venture forth across the saltily spraying seas in search of booty.

Arr.
