Dallas Meetup Update December 27, 2006 11:33 AM   Subscribe

World's smallest, most exclusive MeFi Meetup Evar: ufez, romakimmy's perennially lurking sister, romakimmy and a CareBears Checker Set were in Dallas these past two weeks. Despite a massive amount of obligatory family time, we did manage to do some shoutouts. Auguri y'all.

Reportedly, there were only two people at the second Sydney meetup. Also, a (non-mefite) friend of mine ran into enfa on the T a few months back. Would that count as a one-person meetup?

Heh. I've been more or less mutually exiled from 9622.net, but I'm grad to be remembered, Kimmy.

I can't even remember my login for 9622.net. Still, it was nice to be..wha? huh? Where's my name?

I kid, I kid! Reminds me of my first Chicago MeFi meetup. It was me, my coffee and a shitty bar television set. We had fun though.

Well, your coffee did most of the talking.

Nah. It wasn't really a meetup. Romakimmy's sister (the henchwoman, for those not in the know) and I are shacking up together, so when kimmy came in for the holidays, she stayed with us. Really, I've just been working the entire time. She heads back to Roma tomorrow.

It's been over two years since our last real Dallas meetup, though. I'd be down for trying to pull something together here in a couple of weeks, when the travel season is over and I can breathe again.

Heh. Sorry, Kevin. I had little to no say in them since I was in a heated drubken argument with a friend about the merits of Mitch Mitchell compared to those of John Bonham. I think the women got bored and began drawing on napkins.

That actually works well for me. I'll be a bachelor from 1/6-1/14, so anytime in there would be good for me. It's a bit easier for me to swing it that way so I don't have to explain to my wife that I can't do anything with her because I need to go get drunk with people I don't know.

Woo hoo. A shoutout I didn't have to grovel for!

(And romakimmy and I had one of those molto exclusivo two person meetups years ago in magica Roma.)

dios: I should be down. I'll even throw an e-mail tog's way to see if she feels like making a road trip. I've a spare bed now that she can crash in. May I make a presumtive suggestion and offer up the Balcony Club (right next to Lakewood Theater) for some jazz and very nicely poured G&T's/Martinis. So long as it's not on a Mavs game night, I should be able to show up.

What's 9622.net?

While you ignored the offers from Montell to show up, we found a bit of your DNA in the monkey, ebk. We've collectively filed a paternity suit in Federal court, and, justifiably, the Judge ruled that you can either send us each $96.22 or do 9,662 hours of community service, you lecherous deadbeat bastard.

Teej is going down with you, by the by.

How do you tell which pieces are which?
There are CareBears on blue clouds & CareBears on white clouds. The crowns are for "kinging" your CareBear. They screw on the ears. And those last two sentences sound inexplicably dirty.

Good God, did anybody drink the vodka?
Considering I've been drinking my weight in (good) tequila & margaritas made properly (con lime), I'll leave the vodka for ufez and my sis.

Romakimmy's sister ...and I are shacking up together
AHEM. What ufez modestly forgot to detail was that the sis & he met at the last MeFi Dallas International Meetup of 2004. Ain't that cute? Note to self: ask sis how the hell she explained that one to the 'rents. "Well, romakimmy dragged me to this Internet nerd thing where complete strangers meet up and get plastered and that's how I met ufez..."
