A William Carlos Williams poem, with every line as a link? April 20, 2002 1:38 AM   Subscribe

A William Carlos Williams poem, with every line as a link? Apart from wasting a dozen lines of front page space, it strikes me that the contribution didn't engender much discussion aside from debating how annoying the post was.

Yes.
Just think of all the middle east threads that could have been posted in that space.

Agreed. My point exactly.

'wasting space on the front page'.

yeah, we have so little of it. we might run out.

i applaud him for trying to be original and unique.

and for anyonw who complains, if you don't like using your mouse wheel, hit the spacebar.

I actually thought it was quite ingenious....he left out the last line "and so cold" and his links reflected exactly that...too bad it was iced. It was a great post in my opinion.

There's a fine line between clever and stupid.

Well, the post is gone, so Matt apparently disagrees. And, you know jcterminal, instead of complaining yourself you could just skip MeTa.

This isn't the 08 forum from dreamless. Metafilter isn't a site where you can just post anything you want and pass it off as performance art and sit then back and laugh when people don't get it. When 50% of the comments are "huh"? and "wtf?" and the other 50% are you trying to explain what the post is about, there's a 100% that the post is a dud.

With a post like that, there's no chance of discussing the links, only the post itself. Settle is better than that. Sometimes o<

OK YOU ASKED FOR IT

That "performance art" comment really hurt, you know.
