MetaFilter outage April 28, 2000 6:08 AM   Subscribe

FYI: MetaFilter was down for about three hours this morning because of a shoddy power chord. The power chord could wiggle a little bit in the back of the server, and when it did, sometimes the power connection would break. This would happen occasionally as people walked right next to it, jostling it ever so slightly. Today though, it looks like it happened at 6 in the morning in a locked office, so I replaced the chord with one that won't cause it to power down.

The good thing about this is that people couldn't post to Metafilter that Metafilter was down. Silver lining! Bees! Etc....

It comes from the expression, "Every jar of honey has a silver lining of bees." Bees are crunchy.

Bees! Bees in my hair! Aieeee! Greg Knauss posted it to winerlog one day. I have no idea how he came up with it, but goddamn do I find it amusing.

SOAP! SOAP in my spicy noodles! Aieeee!

since you mentioned winerlog, maybe you know: who is doing winerlog now? It has turned brutal.

... so jason, you're saying you don't get it either? I'm so glad I'm not alone. I did see it on winerlog but, you know, assumed I was out of the loop somewhere even at that point.

it IS amusing but I don't for the life of me know why... I will, I suppose, have to be content with that!
