Followup: I have a date! Also, since I've bet my ass on Kerry, I may actually be able to afford the coffee.
Personally I'm worried about the risk from SUV.

Learn from my experience...even if she's an actress, don't go see Who's Afraid of Virginia_Woolf on a first date. You'll get no play.

good luck. is it tonight? years back the uk was in a similar position - thatcher had just been dragged off screaming and everyone was expecting a labour landslide. on polling day evening a friend of mine (we shared a house) had a date with a local party worker. he was so damn smug - left the house as evening fell with a huge grin, a bottle of champagne, and a pack of condoms....
...labour lost the election and he returned home very unhappy at about 3am.
(so i hope your date is unconnected with the election...)

You know, on most nights, getting my first date in 5 years would be the highlight.
Of course, I met her at the Bush/Kerry college debate. Guess who I spoke for. By the end of the night, Kerry will have won me £41, a date, and the return of my respect for humanity.

Try not to mention the influencial Web Community of a few thousand active members that is highly interested and instrumental about getting in her pants.
Cause you know, you don't know where we've been.

two words: old movies.
anything produced in Hollywood during the Golden Age (1935-1945, it's all good).
or, vampire movies. they always work on first dates
there's also Robert Frank's exhibit at the Tate Modern. smart + cool

We like classical music. We're going to the Royal Festival Hall. Post-coffee.

Whoops...anyway, seems like you were basically on the same vibe...
Not to blow this one date out of proportion, but have a great time, and keep up the good work!

Or.... perhaps not.

If more than a few ladies also bet their asses on Kerry, we will be seeing the Return Of The Platonic Date.

Maybe you'll be needing a drop box to help pay your debt and your date. The "Help Pretty_Generic pay for his date fund."
I'll throw in $3 and sacrifice the beer I was going to cry into tonight.
