Meetup Chaos: MetaFilter's first Rome/St. Louis/NYC/OKC/Dallas meetup is coming at 'cha like a Texas haymaker. This Friday (uh, in Dallas) down at Monica's (in Deep Ellum) we'll be having dinner. Shenanigans will continue long into the night... (more inside)

Okay, first off, I need to get a final headcount for dinner, since we're making reservations. I know for sure that myself, romakimmy, romakimmy's henchwoman, Dejah420, chicobangs, notsnot, and tog are in for dinner. Anyone else?

Also, we need to est. a time for the reservation. I probably can't do any earlier than 7:30. Anyone else have a preference?

Finally, if you want to come out later - but not join us for dinner - e-mail me a phone number and I'll give you a call when we move elsewhere.

buon natale & hugs to kimmy, dejah, leia, amanda, thomcatspike, ufez and the rest of the Dallas chapter. I am so terribly sorry to miss the MefiDallas Night Out. I love my Dallas comrades, all of you. not to mention, I would have been thrilled to be able to say the words "nice to meetcha, puke & cry, I'm matteo". funnily enough on Friday nite I'll be far away, in Moscow. but maybe who knows, I'll see communists, there, too. there must be a handful of them left.

Cool. Let's plan on 8:00. I'll give this a few more hours before calling Monica's to make a reservation. We're at 10 and counting for dinner. I'll also inquire as to how flexible they are with changing numbers.

Important update - for anyone following along here. . Dinner reservations have been made for 9, not 10 (I've e-mailed everyone who said they were coming, but...uh, yeah). Then we'll spill out into the dirty streets and well, lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous.
