Hey SF, wanna come out and have a drink? When's a good night for you?
I'm in SF for a couple days this week, but my time is super short. I'll probably have a couple hours to kill after work on Thursday (before my 9pm flight home) if anyone wants to grab a beer at the house of shields. How about 5:30 or so?

House of Shields about 5:30 or so on Thursday it is. I'll be there, anyway! That'll give the Flickr crossover crowd a chance to get started before they head over to Delancey St (or up to Abir, wherever it ends up being).
Kenko, we'll have at least one more before we meet up in mid-September. Keep watching this space and remind us (well ... me) what your best timing is.

Sorry, no Fiona this time around. I was going to, but I read that immune systems don't really develop strong enough for travel until they are about 3 months old.

For those of us, like me, still wet-behind-the-ears-new to SF, it's on 39 New Montgomery Street, just south of Market between 2nd and 3rd St.
Someone less clueless than I could tell me how to take the N-Judah streetcar from UCSF to get there so I could have a little bit to drink.

ikkyu2, the N-Judah stops at the Montgomery station, nearly spitting distance from the House of Shields.

Wow, that's awesome -- I keep hearing about more web folks moving to SF. It's like it's bubble 2.0. :)

oh man, I used to walk by house of shields every day going to my gym. Sorry I'm gonna miss it.
It's real easy to find folks. Just hook a right if you're headed toward the bay, a left if you're away. Market and South Mont, if I'm not mistaken.

ikkyu2 - Market street is the dividing line. If the street you're walking on says "Montgomery," you're on the north side of Market. If the street says "New Montgomery," you're on the south (the right side in this case). The Sheraton Palace is a good landmark, as it's at the corner of Market and New Montgomery.

My kiddo's got gymnastics that night, but have a Scotch and soda for me.

I'm going to SF tomorrow for my first time, and might actually be able to make this. How bizarre. Will take the directions with me, anyhow, and ask the SO how she feels about being dumped for a few hours.

Yeah, I s'pose I could drop in for a pint or two before the SFlickr meet to congratulate the new daddy.

Maybe, caitlinb. She's less fond of bars than I am, and I'm not so fond of them.
So, how will I spot this fiendish crew? I'm just an innocent middle-aged female from the fly-over zone, after all...

I think it will be pretty obvious who we are, but take a look at DaShiv's gallery to see some of the usual suspects.
