So, I made an FPP. Immediately after I hit Post, I noticed a glaring spelling error. There does not seem to be an edit window for posts that have been posted. I find this unfotunate. Can there be an edit window for them?
Was there an increase in the edit window's window?
Went to make my second edit in an ask answer (i suck at typing apparently) and noticed the "Time Remaining to Edit: " was 5 mins and some seconds. Missed grabbing a screenshot unfortunately. I thought the edit window was 5 mins... did I mis-remember, has it changed, or just a random bug? [more inside]
Not to abuse MetaTalk...
You don't need to tell us that you're not abusing the edit window. Just make the additional comment and say what you wanted to say. [more inside]
In praise of the edit window
I just used the edit window to close a parenthetical statement I'd left open by accident, and I was just thinking about how much I have appreciated it since its introduction. Hooray for the edit window! Saving mefites everywhere from the shame of inadvertent typos! Thanks, mods, for having implemented this incredibly useful feature.
Is the edit window an invitation to narcissism?
I'm guilty of this: I find myself rereading my posts continuously for 5 minutes after I post them, even though I already previewed and corrected any typos. Not a complaint per se, just curious if my experience is unique.
Can we get some edit window stats?
How many people have used it, average edits per post, how many the person with the most edits has used, etc (not naming names), how often its used the various subsites, how many flags/complaints you've gotten over editted posts, etc?
Just curious how it's working out.
Please?
I just posted an AskMe with a dumb typo. Any chance of getting an edit window for Ask as well? [more inside]
It's like a second chance to avoid opening your mouth and removing all doubt.
What about an "on second thought, maybe it'd be better not to have said anything at all" window? [more inside]

What say ye of the edit window?
I Don't Have Three Minutes to Change My Mind, Do I?
Whatever happened to the "Timed Editing" feature allowing corrections on comments/posts for 3 minutes after posting (pre-announced and tested here in December 2008)? Was it officially canceled, filed and forgotten, or implemented but Wendell's too stupid to figure out how to use it?
