When you preview a comment the post's title disappears both in the browser's title bar and at the top of the page. Is that supposed to happen? Because it seems weird to me.

bug: can't submit an AskMe question. The final "post" button just reloads the page, like the "preview" button. Firefox 2.0.0.1.

Looks like the time zone code is broke. Everything is showing up PST for me, even though I've got Eastern set.

Padding (?) on the top-right "MetaTalk" link makes a horizontal scroll bar appear on-click (
screenshot). Seems to only happen in Firefox (1.5 on a Windows XP Home SP2 machine). This is totally the end of the world.

The MetaTalk
RSS feed is slightly misguided. Links point to MetaFilter threads of the same #, not the correct MeTa thread.

i opened ask metafilter and metatalk in two tabs in Safari 2.0, closed the AskMeFi tab, and (i think) clicked a link in MeTa, and the top frame is still AskMeFi green.
here's a link. looks like a caching issue obviously but i've refreshed and it's still there.

The MeTa menu bar is showing green, while the rest is the appropriate gray. What?

In Safari 1.3 the background of the top nav panel on AskMe is in MeTa grey rather than green.

The topmost thread on metatalk has tons of white(gray) space between the description and the comments/timestamp line. The space seems to coincide with the sidebar. Only when I'm not logged in, using Mozilla Firebird .6 through .7.

Dear Matt: given that most people here use IE, when will you modernize the MetaTalk posting page? You've known for ages that anyone hitting the "Back" button to edit their post will lose everything because of IE browser settings.
When will it be as easy as the MetaFilter one? How is someone who knows no HTML supposed to post to MetaTalk with the appropriate links, bold and italic emphases and whatever?

Hitting preview in Mozilla gets you the preview page without the inputted text and no "post" button.

IE6, running on Win98SE. I have "open links in a new window" selected in my profile customization, but they open in the same window anyway.

I can't see a preview of my comments in Metatalk using N4.79, and the login screen isn't showing. It worked just fine before the MeFi server outage (*pouts*). It does work correctly in MeFi, tho.

IfI try to read any thread on MetaFilter or MetaTalk and I'm logged in, I get 404, yo. If I'm not logged in, I can read the threads. I've tried logging out and logging back in, and I deleted my MetaCookies.

Unlike the behaviour at Metafilter itself, here on Metatalk, after I arrive at the new flat front page with the (x new) flags on threads, if I click into a thread to read the comments then hit the back button on my browser, I seem to be losing my (x new) flags.

More logging-into-MetaTalk pain and dismay...
I'm at a new job as of this week and so am using a new computer, and I can't log in completely (it seems) to MetaTalk... I can log in and show up as logged in on the front page of MT or on a category main page, but when I click through to a thread there's no logged-in indicator and no posting form.
Similar/related to a problem where I can't seem to log *out* of (some pages on) MetaTalk, from home.
Matt, I emailed you about the latter a month or two ago, not sure if you got it though... if you did & are aware of the problem, please disregard this bug report and just work on getting me that pony.

i'm not sure if this has been covered before - i read thru a few posts and then gave up. when i visit MeTa first, I get that read out at the top telling me how many comments and links since my last visit, which is great. if i visit MeFi first, however, when i come here to MeTa the read out always says no comments and no links, even tho in all likelihood there have been some. then i have to go fishing for them.
is this something everyone is experiencing, or something i can adjust in some prefs somewhere that i don't know about? i know i could avoid it by always checking in with MeTa first, but sometimes i forget. a lot of times, actually.

Dunno if this is a bug or what, but: I wanted to set my preferences in MetaTalk (to make my font size smaller). This happened to be while I was putting something in the posting form field. At the bottom there was what I thought was the usual menu bar:
but when I clicked on "Customize" I got a 404. Then when I went to report this I discovered that that menu bar *only* appears for me when I've already clicked "preview" on comments I'm making. Is the page with the menu bar a remnant layout that's been removed elsewhere?

D'oh - I just noticed it's not easy (actually, it's not possible) to log out of metatalk. Sorry about that, I'll dig in and see what the problem is this weekend.

The returned URL from a MetaTalk comment posting is not identical to the page from which you posted it, which means that "Back" takes you back to the comment page with the filled in form, rather than back to the parent page, a feature I'd always rather liked...
