Is it me, or is there an unusual number of crappy posts on the front page today? A 3 month old link about AI? The Ketchup piece, which has sparked a conversation concerning whether or not it sucks. A TV listing? Michael Jordan's ramifacations on world economy...about 6 posts after another, similar, Michael Jordan thread.
I've never been a MeFi-aint-what-it-used-to-be sorta guy, but this just seems nuts. Am I just noticing this for the first time, or is today special?

It's not just you. One look at some of the front page posts and some of their comments and I had the sinking feeling this may be the last day, prophesied by some.

Today is going to be a looong-ass day.

I feel as if we just trashed the place today and we better clean it up before Matt gets home, or we're gonna be in trouble.

Yeah, and I had a cool post ready to go today, that didn't have to do with WTC or Falwell or anything. I'll wait until tomorrow, I think...

Although, from a MeTa perspective, today should provide good argument fodder.

rodii: i typically judge the MeFi climate by what's being posted on MeTa. And it is dark and stormy right now.
