MeFi formatting on TabletPC September 12, 2005 11:45 AM   Subscribe

Ok, I was just viewing MeFi on my TabletPC. When in tablet mode, longer usernames in the "posted by" span mess up the formatting if they're near the top of the page. (It's pushed down by the sidebar.) I have an example here. (warning, ~130k. Please be gentle on my server.) Is there anything that can be done about this?

I was able to repeat the error if in normal mode I adjust the window width. It only happens if the width of screen minus sidebar is only slightly smaller than the span for the given post. I know this wouldn't concern most people, but it is somewhat annoying.

I get this same problem on occasion, on desktop and laptop Windows machines running Firefox.

How about just collapsing the sidebar when you're using your tablet?

Reduce the font size for small text in your MeFi preferences.

I've also noticed this on Firefox from time to time; generally when using a smaller browser window.

After tinkering with the CSS, removing margin-right: 0px; from the .smallcopy style seemed to fix any problems with this.

Correction: that should be removing margin-right: 20px;.

I owe zsazsa a coke. Thanks, looks like that fixed it (and I fixed it across all three subsites)
