Time Zone Problem November 29, 2005 8:07 AM   Subscribe

Time Zone problem? My prefs are set to display the Eastern TZ, yet I'm seeing everying in PT. I think this is a recent phenomenon, though I may have just missed it before.

Those threads all indicate that the timezone preferences are taken into account in the blue, just not in MeTa and AskMe. But my blue is showing PST.

Just sayin'.

I changed my zip code and resaved my preferences, and all is swell again. Nothing to see here.

When I was living in Vietnam, I had my time zone set to my correct location, but my zip code set to 94117. Possibly as a result, all my MeFi times showed up as PST. Is there a relationship between zip code and time zone, Matt?

FWIW I used 94117 because there was no way to express my real location in Hanoi. I guess that latitude-logitude system is still on the pony list. Yankee-filter, indeed.

Yeah, still no way for the many of us who are not American to join the find-your-neighbour party.

The zip has nothing to do with the timezone. Your browser just needs the preference cookie for your timezone. Saving your preferences resets the cookie for you.

I had the same problem in the blue. I went to prefs and it says EST -5. However, the blue is displayed in PST. Going into my preferences and just clicking the submit button fixed it.

MetaTalk is not on this system. FPPs on the grey show EST, but not the threads. All comments are PST.
