Currently, the playback feature of Google Video isn't available in your country January 22, 2006 6:29 PM   Subscribe

A lot of people comment/bitch when a Google video is posted that "Currently, the playback feature of Google Video isn't available in your country.", which I understand is fustrating.

Maybe users submitting Google video links should consider something suggested here. Looks like a neat and relatively simple fix.

An even simpler fix would be to not submit Google video links, which, in addtion to avoiding the problem of playback not working, also avoids the problem of every Google video link FPP being really really crap.

Yes, Mr Shanks has viewed them all.

I did it so you don't have to.

I was hoping that someone'd say that so I didn't have to. Yay!

ah, stav & shanks, if only you two ran this place, it'd totally rock!! Also, I'd never come here, which would probably be just fine by you.

Well, jonson, on review, I can find nothing you've posted that I can see in your history that interests me much, but I got no problem with you having posted it all.

You go, girl. You've carved yourself out a niche.

But my feelings about the profusion of Google Video links here lately? Meh, as the kids are saying these days. Pretty low-rent.

I like google links, and without them, I would leave and never ever ever come back... (for atleast 24 hours!)

Meh

Is being jaded and weary web2.0 ?

If so, I'm all over that shit.

Yeah, jaded and weary I can do standing on my head. Anything involving the word perky is a problem, though.

I have a dream that our children will one day live in a MetaFilter where their FPPs will not be judged by the domains that they link to, but by the content of their.. er.. content.

Translation: I don't care if it's at Google Video, Geocities, ebaumsworld, or whatever the cool-site-to-hate-this-month is. As long as it's good.

I tend to agree with Plutor on this one.

(Except for ebaumsworld. That dude is a backstabbing content thief.)

Being the the last one to submit a Google video link, my apologies. For those of you who expressed your frustration here in MetaTalk rather than the thread, I appreciate that.

Re: the China thing - good to know and thanks for the heads up.

Google video link posts tend to suck, because more often than not they're just one link "OMG this video is hilarious!" posts.

Wait...I'm confused. Here I thought stavros liked the Google Video posts. Huh.
