Your favorite logo font sucks.

I don't know if it is the kerning or the tracking but the letterspacing on the small font in the logo really sucks (not so noticable on MetaTalk, but check out "querying the hive mind" on AskMe and "community weblog" on MeFi). Don't make me call the typography police.

yeah, the ask mefi small font tagline is a crappy fit, and I wish there was more whitespace left of the "Ask MetaFilter"

They're all the same family of small fonts, but different widths, sizes, and weights, so yeah, that's less than ideal.

But is it a pressing issue that affects the site functionality? That's why I've put off recreating them. I'll get to them eventually.

Spock, just do the work yourself and email a URL to mathowie to check it. He'll either say thanks or not and you'll have scratched the itch.

Susan Kare is a bitchin' rad kick ass designer, pixel-wise or other. Having her fonts on MeFi would make me feel warm and fuzzy every time I saw them.

Use the plain text theme and these problems disappear. In fact, given the alternatives, I cannot understand why anyone would choose the default theme.

BTW - thanks for finally bringing MeTa and AskMe into the plain text theme corral, #1.
