Kinda. It's not like it's Gawker or anything.

I think it's worth noting that I learned about the Tijuana Mama right here in the Gray in late 2005, way before I saw it on McSweeney's.

Big whoop.

I think it's worth noting that I learned about the Tijuana Mama when saw it at a convenience store (or was it a truck stop) in 2002, way before I saw it on McSweeney's. Wait. No it's not.

Does this mean that I can put "resourceful citizen" on my resume?

you can, spock. : >

(it's weird but cool that the McSweeney's thing is really old, but so many people still haven't ever seen it--posting it here gave it new life and spread it around again)

MetaFilter was mentioned on PBS last night. Do a page (control/command-F) search for "metafilter" on this transcript.

I'd just like to point out that I have eaten a Tijuana Mama pickled sausage.

It was worth pointing that out.

oh, and next time someone cries censorship on the gray they should be pointed to that transcript

Xeni Jardin is as exotic looking as her name would suggest.

Hold up. I finally went and RTFA, and it's hardly about Metafilter at all. It's all about that stupid McSweeney's page about food. We're not just mentioned in an insignificant blog entry, we're the fucking via! Ugh. I demand this thread be closed and deleted and smashed into tiny pieces and then burned.
