When one submits an AskMeFi question anonymously, how long does it typically take to get posted? And if Matt rejects it, how would one know?

Typically, it takes a day or two to get posted. If I don't post it, you never know, and that's only because it would take several hours a week to email back everyone that ever posted one and explain why on potentially prolonged email exchanges.

Lately, there have been a ton of anon posts, instead of 1 or 2 a day, up to 10 or 20 a day. I've taken to only approving the ones that are pressing and have a compelling reason for being anonymous. I have been passing over a lot of questions that would end up with 50 responses saying "get a therapist" "go to a doctor already" and "you need to talk to a lawyer".

Email me privately if you want to talk about your specific question that hasn't been posted yet.
