nbd is comment-spamming and must be punished. 1, 2.

I'll mix up the tar; you start plucking chickens.

Amazingly, he has posted something to Projects as well.

He hasn't done it everytime but enough to warrant suspicion (50% of his comments). It might just be a "Todd Lokken" scenario, where nbd does not yet understand that there is no need for a signature and does not have a clear understanding of what is appropriate. Perhaps not.

The project is a bit over the top, but if the comment issues is simply a misunderstanding, it would not be a serious offense. An email from matt or jess should clear things up.

You know, though, it sort of looks like he's adding it as an end of comment tagline, rather than just making up reasons to post a link to the site.

Aww, how cute, he thinks we have sig lines.

I sent him an email. We see a lot of people who come over here from UBB systems and don't quite get that signatures aren't really useful or appripriate here.

I follow the link and see "10 worrying trends in subliminal persuasion". Indeed.

Killin's too good for him; force him to listen EB's comments read in a Don Adam's voice. That'll teach him; yes it will.

You know, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but, I mean, fuck. I'm falling increasingly in line with the "let 'em hang" folks.

Fuck new users who don't give enough of a shit to know not to spam the site. Ban 'em and let 'em spend $5 if they want to show contrition.

Frankly, I'm with cortex. A new user wants to join the site, but hasn't read enough to realize that sigs aren't appropriate? C'mon.

What kind of person are you ? the kind of person who like bannings? tarring and featherings or perhaps people ?
posted by srboisvert at 10:08 AM on February 25, 2006

Banning is too quick and offers too little entertainment. Lure him over to Metatalk, pile on him until he bursts into flame, then ban him. It is the process that is important, not the destination.
