Yeah, I tried to post using the object tag, and everything broke. puke & cry apparently repeated my mistake. Maybe Matt can make preview parse code the same way as post?

No. He can't. The live-preview just takes your code and dumps it inside a div. The post (and non-live-preview) uses proprietary Marquee And Blink And Big And Object Killing Technology™ (in CF). Putting it in JavaScript would make it publickly known.

What the live preview needs is a notice. "Warning: Anything with a stupid quotient greater than 0.825 will be filtered out of your post when it's submitted."

I kind of like the thread. It's like a puzzle that I have to figure out wtf is going on.

looks like monju was trying to embed flash in the page, which is filtered out. I removed the three comments.

I don't mind if people know what dumb tags are filtered out. If anyone wants to write a filter on the live preview that accounts for object, embed, iframe, big, etc, they're welcome to and I'll incorporate it into the site.
