What was this game?
Maybe five years back, when Flash Friday was more of a thing, there was a link to an online game. It was somewhat like unto Connect Four: a grid (7 x 7, maybe) in which numbered circles dropped in from above. As certain numbers lined up, those circles would be removed and the remaining circles above dropped into place, which might form new patterns that led to more disappearing. If any of the vertical columns filled up to overflowing, the game was over. There were also options to modify gameplay; one I recall was to turn the whole thing ninety degrees. I enjoyed it, but seem not have favorited it, which suggests I may have seen it before I joined (summer 2008). Anyone know what I am talking about?
(If I need to make that argument, I'll do that inside!)
Maybe I missed something, and if I did, I am sorry, but... [more inside]

2027 in Britain, Again
Update-filter: Interactive fiction Flash Game The Curfew, mentioned and discussed at length in this now-closed post is out of beta and actually playable. Also, have you noticed how much dystopian sci-fi is set in 2027? It's the new 2019!
Forgotten link: flash(?), space(?), photo with blue-dialed watch...
Long shot - looking for a (flash?) link that was posted a couple (several?) months ago in the blue. All I remember: inside. [more inside]
Looking for musical flash game
Several months ago, someone posted a flash game where you drew simple white lines on a black background. White balls hit the white lines and, depending on how hard they hit them, produced a musical note. You could adjust the rate of the balls dropping. I can't find this post.
Flash walk-overs?
There was a comment link to a guy doing walk-over video for websites. I'm pretty sure it was a joke. I lost the link and now I wonder if it was on MeFi at all. [more inside]
ugh. silverlight.

MeetUp Ettiquette: I know that the mods are not our moms and will not be present at meet-ups, but are there any basic ground rules (and/or can we establish some) to govern interpersonal interactions at meet-ups? [more inside]
The Follow-Up Thread
I thought I'd gather together some follow-up links for various things I thought were worth following up on since they were originally posted to the blue. Some things worth checking out, but not individually meaty enough for a whole new FPP. [more inside]
Embedded youtube player not working
Using FF3.0.3 on OSX 10.5.5 with Shockwave 10.0r12, the embedded youtube player redirects me to an error page that says:

Mefi music player won't play
Can't get the mefi music player to work, even though I just reinstalled flash (it's flash-based, right?). It works on my laptop though, not sure why. [more inside]

video embedding (flash)
The new flash media player from Jeroen Wijering can show mp3s, SWF and FLV video, photos and RSS/XSPF/ATOM playlists. Should MetaFilter allow FPPs to use this? Are inline video comments/playlists a feature to avoid?
Can Music play in background tabs?
Quick question - when I'm playing something in me-fi music and switch windows, I lose the sound. This seems unusual - normally I can hear background sound in any open Firefox window. What am I doing wrong?

In this post the formatting of the "posted by..." message is weird.

Haven't been paying rent but still want the house clean
The front page was festooned with a big ugly flashing ad today. I thought members didn't see ads. Bug or feature?
a) Flash is mostly bad, and b) Browser resizing is bad?

Jewelboxing ad
I heart the Jewelboxing flash ad in the Blue sidebar! I have wasted many happy seconds mousing over the case to watch in infantile fascination! ...open the case... close the case! ...open the case... close the case!
Recollectionfilter: that game, the one with the terrorists...
A while ago (years?) there was a link posted on MeFi to a flash game where the objective was to kill terrorists by dropping bombs on them. The trick was, that when you killed terrorists you created more from the people around who took up the fight... Anyone remember it? I've tried a few searches, but nothing so far (there are A LOT of terrorist killing flash games)
Looking for a site with an interactive flash app, whiteboard, webcams and chat
A while back (months) there was a site posted that was basically an interactive flash app that had a whiteboard, webcams, and chat. I've tried searching for it, but I'm just coming up blank. Anyone remember what it was and have a url handy?
Hanger balancing flash game
There was a flash game posted last year on Mefi involving balancing hangers against each other, while hanging elements like birdhouses and sponges off some of them. I've tired google-fu to no avail. Does anyone remember the link? Thanks in advance!
Enough with the flash spam.
We needed another gratuitous product pitch? As the worthless Legs McNeil once said: please kill me.
Flash Friday Fun on other days
Is Flash/Fun still just for Fridays? If no (my vote), can we drop the rather annoying "I know it's not Friday..." and its ilk?
Time to cry FridayFilter?
The news posts have pretty much dissapeared (huzzah). But what's taken their place? I know "we've already discussed this" already, but there have been a few "Friday" posts in the past few non-Fridays. They're usually great fun, but I'm not getting any work done. Time to cry FridayFilter? But seriously folks, what makes a "Friday" post? Sillyness, flash, fun?
No Fun Flash Friday
More Flash!
I just adore games and animations but they're few and far between on MetaFilter, though the standard, when they are posted, seems pretty high. Ashbury's superb contribution yesterday was a welcome exception.
The few that are - most of them, in my opinion, worthy of a FPP - tend to turn up buried in threads. Why is this? Looking through the archives I get the impression that in the past there were far more games and animations.
Are less being produced nowadays or are they considered too childish or something? They're certainly very difficult to find. Woe is me. What are we games junkies to do?

Most obnoxious flash ad ever?
Most obnoxious flash ad ever? Wired News just lost lots of hits from me since I used to read it twice a day and linked to it often.
"Used to" being the operative term.
The flash ad fad is starting to fray my nerves.
(I wanted to post this to Metafilter, but I thought I'd get chewed out since it probably isn't linkworthy by some readers standards.)
