The file is not a valid XML File. Error on line 1: Content is not allowed in prolog.

The problem is once in a while when a new post is made, the "write out a new rss file" command at the end times out and an empty file is written.

I rebuilt the file so it's ok now in readers, and I added code that won't update the ask mefi RSS file unless it receives a response from the server.

Thanks, but unfortunately it's still broken in Bloglines.

Bloglines seems to have a several hour lag from the time I fix the feed until the time people get the new copy.

Understood, but it's been 10 hours, and it's still not working. I'm kind of skeptical that it's a caching issue.

It came back up this morning, for those that are interested. Over 48 hours of downtime...

I emailed them last night and they sent me a message this morning saying it had been reset.

Now, it's down again. There are over 1000 subscribers to that feed. It is weird that it worked so well for so long, and now often seems to not work more than work.
