Is there any reason why MetaTalk posts don't have a Headline/Title?

I think that they could be more useful than http://metatalk.metafilter.com/mefi/11568 [for example].

Seconded. And tags would decrease the number of people asking what the dot means.

Er, wasn't this already discussed? Matt said that he would soon change the title to be an excerpt of the first handful of words of the post.

Regarding educating new users about stuff, a new FAQ system is supposed to be in the works that I think would be a lot more effective than metatalk tags.

Oh well.

Now this has dropped off the front page, I guess we will get neither blue_beetle's [facetious] research offer posted, nor a reply from mathowie [maybe he missed this thread?]

Ne'er mind, eh?
