I have an extra invite to OiNK June 4, 2006 9:50 PM   Subscribe

I have an extra invite to OiNK. As I orignally was invited to the site by a kind hearted mefite, I thought of offering it to the community. Is this appropriate?

And if it is, should it be posted in MeTa, or maybe in MeCha?

Dunno where it's appropriate, but if I'm worthy I'm interested.

I call dibs! BTW, what is OiNK?

No, not really. Try e-mail next time.

Filepile anyone?

Sure! I don't know what it is though.

I have a bunch too (9), email if interested...

Whoops, never mind, I forgot I was demoted briefly, and only have (had) a few, which are now all gone. Sorry.

Wtf is OiNK?

Music sharing bittorrent site. A good invite only one that has rules about the quality of what goes up and no multiple copies. Search for oinks pink palace, or something like that.

Hence the dubious appropriateness of the posting of such info here.

Well if any other mefite has an invite, I'd like one.

I have 7 OiNK invites, email if you want one.

I'll take one of those Filepile accounts! Email in my profile. Thanks!

I'd like a Filepile account too. Thanks!

It's against the Oink rules.

Hope the pair of you get banned :)

I am forwarding all information on this "oink" to the RIAA, the CIA, the FBI and the PTA. HTH, HAND.

I've been covered, OiNK-wise. Thanks!

Invite threads are always so depressing. It's like poor children begging.

"Music releases must have an average bitrate >= 192kbps, regardless of the format, be properly labelled and ideally also have .m3u (playlist) file and covers."

WTF? Covers as in album art? And how hard is it to make your own playlist of an album? Right click on the folder: "Play in winamp" and then save. Because if so, then then I have to go delete all this non-music crap. Eh, I'll stick to my own and altavista's audio search.

I'll take a filepile login, though, if just to see what it's about. =D

If I could fine mine, you could have it. I joined filepile when it was pretty new, decided I did not care and never went back. But hell it probably got deleted over the years or something due to inactivity anyway.

I have 2 invites on IndieTorrents, 4 on OiNK, and 10 on BitMe, if anyone's interested. Email in profile.

I have seven invites to my birthday party, and none of you can have one. We are totally going to have a magician and a clown and a petting zoo too.

What? No 'bounce house'? Glad I wasn't invited.

I had several invites to ND¢'s party, but I couldn't give them away. On the other hand, his mom's party? Let's just say I haven't had to work since I sold those tickets.

What is it about MetaTalk and my mom recently? Hey MetaTalk! Why don't you get off my mom? Because I just got off yours!

P.S. Yo mama's an astronaut

Is an invite for the mythical FilePile still available?
posted by turbodog at 1:05 PM on June 5, 2006

My 2-year-old offer to trade a Gmail invite for a FilePile invite still stands.

:D
posted by scarabic at 1:34 PM on June 5, 2006

But then I'd only have 96 invites left. No way man. Ah, what the hell. What's your email address scarabic. Lesee, scarabic at gmail.com. OK, it's on its way.

I had three but then I was demoted.

It's more an indication of whether or not people have been paying attention. Just like how signing your posts here doesn't make your post less usable, it just suggests that maybe you're new, not paying close attention, or just generally Not Getting It.

(More directly: cue/m3u/log is a sign that the rip was made with EAC, because it creates them for you, and there are a lot of people on OiNK who only want EAC rips.)
