If you disable images while viewing http://projects.metafilter.com, the link text under the white "Projects" egg reads "MetaTalk".

A bad alt tag? For real? Ok, I'll fix it for those three users on earth that might see it (shudder!).

How many members are accessing Metafilter via screen readers? I'd be curious to know.

The background behind the links at the top of Projects shows crimson if you have images turned off. It also flashes crimson briefly if you have them on.
#bottomline {
background: #300 url("/images/bottomback.gif") repeat-x top left;
(a bug so trivial I had to check the CSS to make sure you hadn't fixed it yet)

I very occassionally view it from my cell phone, with images turned off so that I get decent speeds. Not that this affects me either way, but since you were curious.

Good job on insulting those three blind people.

More than just blind users, on a properly written page people with slow connections see the alt tags while the images load.

Fuck that noise. More people might support JAWS if it didn't cost a grand. Where do blind people find the money?
