Jokey non-answer? That's a [n-length] bannin'. June 27, 2006 12:21 PM   Subscribe

How long should a generally good contributor be banned for giving a
bad jokey answer to a controversial AskMe topic?

I ask because keswick has been
banned for about a month
now, and I'd like to see him re-instated.

Me too, as in I'd like to see him reinstated. Not me too, as in he also owes me ten bucks.

But he can give me the money if he really wants to.

Why can't he just get a sockpuppet? Isn't that de rigueur around here?

From MeCha:

No, I'm usually not that good at the whole hat-in-the-hand thing. I'm thinking about paying someone to do it for me.

Sounds to me like he's learned his lesson and really wants back in.

"There's not a day goes by I don't feel regret. Not because I'm out here, or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then, a young, stupid kid who made that terrible comment. I want to talk to him. I want to try and talk some sense to him, tell him the way things are. But I can't. That kid's long gone and this old man is all that's left. I got to live with that. Rehabilitated? It's just a bullshit word. So you go on and stamp your form, sonny, and stop wasting my time. Because to tell you the truth, I don't give a shit.

Why do people have such an aversion to actually making their point on the MetaTalk front page?

Spoils the mystery, smackfu. The Metatalk, she is a coy lover.

Did you get a cramp in your finger clicking that one extra time?

cortex, are you trying to say that keswick should sneak back in to MeFi through a sewer pipe? Or that keswick and Rothko are off on a beach in Mexico somewhere together?

I haven't gotten any email from him, so it fell through the cracks.

This was a completely necessary MeTa thread that couldn't possibly have been handled via e-mail.
posted by cribcage at 1:25 PM on June 27, 2006

Except that would have denied everyone the pleasure of viewing the conversation. Admin activities around here are a spectator sport.
posted by Gamblor at 1:28 PM on June 27, 2006

And it has been resolved.
