Hey now, it's perfectly okay to self-link in comments, though his link is totally irrelevnt to the thread at hand, and his posting history does bear all the hallmarks of someone gearing up to a self-link front page post and just forget I said anything.

Um, Jessamyn, I've never had a good STD... But then maybe I'm just mocking you back for mocking my AskMeFi question.

you call that mocking? that was a dignified, though possibly inaccurate, response to that question.

It felt so, but then I've been called "oversensitive." Anyway, since when does mockery have to be undignified? (But then I had to be told "A Modest Proposal" was a put-on.)

What gives?

Oh wait. I get it. I'm the one who linked to my AskMe question. Twice. Okay. "What gives" is that my mind is clearly going and I need to get out more.

Ooo. Just look at all the buttons jessamyn gets! I bet at least one of them sends an electric shock to the poster's keyboard.

We've been over that, stet. (Warning: self-link!)
But on that topic, jess, just out of curiosity: what does the "user info" link produce? Matt's view didn't seem to have that (screenshot upthread in the link I posted), although that was for MeTa. Not paranoid, just curious.

Just the usual: address, phone number, blood type, social security number (if applicable), employment history, medical records, voting records, sexual preference... Nothing you'd need to worry about.

i was hoping to avoid a technical explanation of why the database crashed, but i see it's unavoidable now
it's like this ... as we all know, matt is running this site on windows, which is little-endian ...
on the other hand, it's well known that macks like me are big-endian

Wow, this is like that one scene in Buffy (the movie) where PeeWee Herman is like staggering around refusing to die and going all OOO and AHRRR and UNNNNH and it's hilarious because, you know, it's like a metaphor.

I'm more concerned with the blood pressure implications of having an infinite loop for a penis than I am the fault tolerance of database software.

There's no database in the world which would "crash" or "break" on a divide by zero. That's a well-known undefined result, not a mind-blowing paradox which makes computers explode.
It was a good zing, though. So was pyramind_termite's first one.
