Favorited comments (past tense) don't work on HiFi. [mi]
posted by Eideteker to Bugs at 8:02 AM (15 comments total)

On my "Posts from Eideteker saved as favorites" page, there is a comment I posted to Music which has been favorited. But the thread does not reflect that (there's no [+ 1]). Luckily, however, I know how to find out who faved it (phew, that was a close one!), however, when I click on that user's name, it shows me that she has not marked any favorites. Her userinfo page shows that she has marked two favorites, though. Please note this is true as far as I've seen for all favorited comments on HiFi.

Yeah, I haven't worked MeFi Music comments into the favorites yet.

Ok, cool, so long as you know about it. Not really a high-priority item.

wait...HiFi is what the cool kids are calling music.metafilter now?
must have missed that memo.

If we ever have a RecipeFilter could it please be called PieFi?

HiFi, Mufi, at least someone is listening to it. A coupla weeks ago cortex mentioned emails with Don Mathowie about the possibility of putting a MuFi sidebar on the FPP of the blue (or rather, including MuFi in the existing sidebar). Does anybody out there knows if the idea is still in the frying pan?

Mmmmm. PieFi.

I've been talking to cortex about picking a featured song maybe once a week or so, from the previous week's uploads. It would be on the front page sidebar of the music site. I dunno if it would show up on any other sites.

Aaaaah, I see. I thought it would appear on the main page of the blue, along with the Sex in Space and the Who Owns the Internet thread, as a way of "promoting" MuFi in the eyes of people who don't go there often.

Would that be out of line? Is it a bit much?

Never liked MuFi as an abbreviation-- I mean, it's only one letter shorter than Music. HiFi is OK, though a lot of the stuff there is definitely LoFi (my stuff included.)

How about a home mortgage section of the site called ReFi?

Yeah, it would. Having a featured artist/song section right on the front of mefi music would let those that only occasionally look at the site see what the cream of the crop is.

If I started spreading that to other sites, it starts to feel like www.metafilter.com would turn into yahoo.com, acting as a portal of all the crazy other subsites on one page. I like to keep things simple, so it'll just be on the music site.

* P.S. stop calling it MuFi, it sounds really dumb.

I quite like HiFi, though I hadnt heard it till today. And now that you mention it, my vote would go for LoFi. I like HiFi, but LoFi I love.

Two inanities for the price of one!

You know what sounds dumber? mTunes

But no one calls it that.

I'd vote for Mathowie's Finest Music Emporium and Pistol Range, but I doubt we'll have a vote.
