Feeds by tab October 28, 2006 8:36 AM   Subscribe

NewTabsIWannaPonyFilter: For the various stuff that has now been tabbed-up on AskMeFi, MeFi, and MeTa, it would be wonderful for those of us who primarily browse by RSS feed if we had the option of subscribing to individual RSS feeds for the tabs in question. Hell of a lot more work, I imagine, but I'm just talking in an ideal world.

Would that scale? Questions stay open for a year or something like that, so you'd be polling each of the threads you were interested in in the past year once every few hours (at least, I suspect most people want at most that kind of latency when threads are new).

I don't suppose there are any RSS readers that allow you to set the polling time to an exponential backoff are there? Because that would make the entire point moot.

yeah, the recent comments would be an insane feed changing ever x seconds, but if you just want unanswered and answered, I can create those.

There would be a lot of churn, but you could just generate a static snapshot copy of the feed every 30 minutes or whatnot and it would probably be better than nothing.
