New RSS Feeds December 14, 2006 11:33 AM   Subscribe

PonyFilter: Can we have RSS feeds for users' answers/posts? It'd be nice if you like a person's brand of answers and want to keep abreast of them, but are the kind of person who lives and dies by RSS feeds. Plus, y'know, well, there's this.

I'd like this.

I could see this. But what I'd really like is an RSS feed that updates everytime somebody pictures me naked.

I seem to remember this request coming up before and being squashed. The argument being: this is the kind of thing that stalky snarks would love. And that, my friends, is why we can't have nice things.

I think this would be neat.

Your memory is flawed, Plutor.

Exactly 2000 threads ago, too! It's a sign.

I can assure you that this isn't the first time I've heard that. At least, I don't think it is.

To be fair, every time I've seen it come since then (and it has, often) there's been a certain amount of hand wringing about stalking, but I don't recall mathowie saying he wouldn't do it.

Just to clear this up, are we about stalking as in "following someone around the site and posting nasty comments"? Or, y'know, actual stalking?

The former, I think. I can't see how it would facilitate the latter.

Good. Well, in either case, it's not like an RSS feed is going to offer up any new information over the existing comments pages.

Yeah, if you're gonna stalk someone, you better be refreshing their comments page every 30 seconds.

An RSS feed is like lazy stalking and will earn you zero points.
