Just double checking--Rose and Raindrop is not smoke-free, correct?

Is that near Digger O' somethings? I was an AD with The Oregonian back in the day and was kicked out of several of PDX' finest watering holes on both sides of the river. Have a great meet-up. Check for a black Members Only jacket I left there around 1985. You can keep the katana sword.

They have a smoking room. It has a giant poker table. Never will you feel happier to have been relegated to an enclosed smoking zone.

Uh...yeah...no. Ah well.

No, Rose and Raindrop is not smoke free. They allow smoking down in the bar, and when we were there last time we smoked in the enclosed poker room, while nonsmoking MeFites used the ajoining balcony area and we milled betwixt them.

Frykitty, I was at the last meetup, and didn't even notice the smoke, though I know the smokers were in the room next-door. On the other hand, I'm not overly sensitive to smoking, either.

I walked into the poker/smoker room to say hi to the smokers who had self-segregated, and it was pretty noxious in there. The room is tiny and not very well ventilated.

The outside room is OK, though, although I kind of missed seeing everyone who had decamped into the smoking room.

loquacious: "7PM until drunk o'clock."

Well. This meetup seems to have had the dubious distinction of having been over before it began.

If it weren't for the bronchitis, I'd be there. Consider me present in spirit.

I alas will not be there. I am very tired and I still have to pack for my big Colorado trip...I do still have a bedazzler though so yeah...

I seem to have the beginnings of a fever and my muscles ache like nothing else, so I, too, will have to pass.

I'm actually fading fast, as well. I've got a huge backpack full of leftovers, warm PNW travelling clothes, camera gear and a few small presents I need to drag home on a 30 mile bus jog, so I'm just going to head straight home instead of trying to negotiate a layover.

I think most of us just bit off more than we could chew the day after Christmas. I'm ready for a nap, and my Christmas was relatively supper mellow. Too bad we'll miss the Rose and Raindrop, but we'll have more meetups elsewhere.

R&R was still alive but sadly, the upstairs was unlit. Ah well, onto American Cowgirls!

It turned into a micro-meetup—my HG cohorts and I hit the joint a little after 8 and there were no mefites in sight; they stayed on to wait for ludwig_van, since we didn't know how to get in contact with him (note to self: buy skylight, decorate with tuba silhouette), and I went off to band practice. When I came back at 10:30ish, ludwig and packy had arrived.

We discussed shoutouts, but as no one had a camera we decided that they would be a bit silly.

Huh. I didn't realize there was a meetup last night, and yet I was at the R&R from about 7:30 till I don't remember when. Were you all at the two tables pushed together, one table away from the windows looking out on Grand Ave?

A grand old time it was!
