Okay, this may not qualify as an Official Meetup. But some of us -- well, definitely at least two or three of us! -- will be at Dolores Park this Sunday. If you want to find us (or find out if anyone showed up), call me. (Email me for cell phone number.)

Ohhh... that sounds like exactly the sort of wonderful thing I am just way too sick for right now. It's only Thursday, I know, but I turned my back on this flu once and it came back to bite me.

Urg. Sounds like much more fun than driving to L.A. to meet with my accountant. Which is what I'll be doing. Damn.

Have fun. :)

I love Dolores park. Some of earliest childhood memories are of playing on the playground there while a group of drummers banged away on congas. You could hear them for blocks, and it was blissful. I'll be there is spirit, though I'm thousands of miles away right now. Post pics!

Ooh! That sounds like fun! I'll definitely try to make it, depending on where I am with a project I'm working on.

That sounds lovely, and the weather's even supposed to be nice. However, I will be at the ballpark, screaming "Beat L.A.!!" like some sort of demented completely normal Giants fan.

There is a possibility I will be there, as I live about two blocks away. But there is an equal possibility that I won't, because sometimes I freak out and can't stand the thought of a crowd and have to hide.

PS ... I'm thinking about making chocolate chip cookies for the event. I am not a proud person, but I make very. good. chocolate chip cookies.

*whispers* If you make them, I will come.

If that is meant as a lure for me, it's not going to work, because I hate chocolate.

Yes, I am a freak, and no, I'm not very popular.

dammit. I love chocolate chip cookies. While you eat them, think of me...I will be drinking a $9 (!!!) beer.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm very bribable with food. Among other things.

You know, the thing that's going to make this is that I am in Berkeley to visit the family and I will definitely be in Dolores Park.

You know, if this only were sometime *next* week, I could go as an ambassador from the London MeFite group, and we could collude as to how to take down our mutual enemy, New York City.

We like London and SF--it's LA and Boston we don't. : >

There's a chance I'll be able to make it up from the 'burbs. The cookies are especially enticing...

Do you have any hint about which part of the park you'll be at? And what time?
posted by jasper411 at 8:46 PM on April 7, 2007

Well, I'll probably walk over about 12:30 (I live a couple blocks away), and will likely survey the scene from the benches above the playground (the dog play area). I may have my dog, who is a red shepperd-chow mutt.
posted by ClaudiaCenter at 9:57 PM on April 7, 2007

Actually -- brainstorm -- I'll try to leave a note on the pole near said benches (the pole with the dog poop bags) re where we are. (Assuming it doesn't rain and there are people.)

I got to Dolores Park, and then I decided Easter is better spent with my grandmother.

As the Easter bunny, I had other obligations. I apologize.
