I've been having a strange problem when I try to visit metafilter from home. [more]

When I type www.metafilter.com or metafilter.com into the address bar on my home computer I get

"Error Occurred While Processing Request
Error Diagnostic Information
ODBC Error Code = 37000 (Syntax error or access violation)

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Line 3: Incorrect syntax near '='.

The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of (CFQUERY), occupying document position (21:2) to (21:39).

Date/Time: 11/21/01 21:34:29
Browser: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; MSN 2.5; Windows 98)
Remote Address:

Please inform the site administrator that this error has occurred (be sure to include the contents of this page in your message to the administrator)."

I found that I can still get to the main page by typing (random jumble).metafilter.com

Does anyone know what I could do to stop having this happen?

Possibly data in your cookie is bad and the script is trying to use that data to do a select on the database. Since the data is bad, the SQL statement is bad.

This is just a hunch: try deleting your cookies completely, closing your browser, coming back to MetaFilter and logging in.
