ColdFusion error on MeFi's index page, cookie-related May 21, 2007 8:56 PM Subscribe
The other day, MeFi and its subdomains started giving me the following ColdFusion error when loading the index page. (Firefox / Intel Mac, as below.)
MeFi works fine for me in Safari, and I'm guessing that resetting my cookies will solve the problem. (Something's corrupted in there, maybe.) But I thought I'd pass along the error screen in case it's of interest to the powers that be...
Error is as follows:
Thanks, jess. Holy hell, I don't know how to work computers tonight.

Is this because I have over 2000 favorites? I'm not sure the servers are calibrated to handle such an astronomical figure. These things were designed with less favoritable people in mind, they're not ready for the orgy of favorosity that follows in my wake. I ruined k5 this way too, or at least I would have if I had been a member there.

I'd say that yes clearing the cookies out to fix that.
And there's got to be a witty dick joke to follow what jonson just said, but I'm too lazy right now.

Weird, I don't even see a reference to the cookie.user_name variable on the front page of the site.

As long as you're editing, jessamyn, there's a stray IP addy in that mess.

Another error, although likely unrelated, I am not seeing the labels for the three format buttons (bold, italics and link) nor am I seeing the t-shirt graphic on the front page.

Clearing cookies did indeed fix it. Just another mystery of ColdFusion for you to ponder...
