Not exactly a feature request, nor a bug- anyway: is it possible for different views of the "activity by so-and-so {favorited}" not to open up a new tab for each particular view?

Can you rephrase the question please?

The different views do not open up new (browser) tabs for me. Do you by chance have "open up links in new windows" turned on in your Metafilter preferences?

OK, when I'm looking at "favorited" activity of oneirodynia, I like to see the precise view. When I choose this, the view opens up in a new tab. If I want to go back to fuzzy, clicking that opens another tab (though I am perfectly capable of just going back to the original page, of course). It's just second nature to expect the page to change views, not have an entirely new page open.

I do, mendel, and I prefer that for everything else. It's just odd to me that the favorite views count as new links, I guess.

I'd also be fine with just being able to set a viewing option for that page that remains constant unless I change it again.

Having fiddled with it a little bit, I see what you're saying now. I don't know how its decided which links will open in a new window (or browser tab) and which will not when you have that preference checked, but I agree that the new Recent Activity page seems to foil expectations in that regard.

I'll add link targets to those tabs, to make sure they stay within the same window for those with the open new links in new windows setting turned on.

I think I fixed it, lemme know if it's not working as expected now.

Works great. Thanks, mathowie!
