I want to listen to all of your songs July 10, 2007 7:18 PM   Subscribe

I once found (and bookmarked) this page of all of chococat's music. I like it because it has the little flash player, so I can listen to all of his tunes. How do I get to the same kind of page for other MeFi Musicians? I've tried looking on members' profile pages, but the link to all of their songs goes to the music parts of their Activity pages. Thanks.

Looks like you can just replace the user ID number to get a different list.

For example, if you go to my profile, you'll see that my user ID number is 24716. Put that into the link you have and you get http://music.metafilter.com/search_threads.mefi?user_ID=24716, which has all of my songs.

As for how you got to that page initially, I have no idea. But I like it!

If I remember correctly, that "http://xxx.metafilter.com/search_threads.mefi?user_ID=xxxxx" used to be the format for searching for recent threads for all the different subsites. Like if you click here you'll see that chococat as made only one metatalk thread. The format for the recent activity page has changed recently, and the new one doesn't have the flash app.

I would imagine there isn't any way to get to that page anymore besides just plugging ids into the url. Could be wrong though.

I was just going to tell you to click on "x songs" from a profile page, but, huh. No player.

Really, we should just incorporate the music player more thoroughly on the site.

I guess the solution is to put the flash app on the new music posts activity page then.

feel free to listen to all of mine. Think of it as performance art.

Yeah, we just need to incorporate the flash player into the activity page views.

I would like to be able to embed a playlist into my profile page.

I don't suppose scrobbling tracks played in the flash player to Last.fmis a possibility?

Incidentally I was catching up on some of the MeFi podcasts and there was mention, I think in the first one, of the player stopping when you change windows or focus.

In Firefox (I haven't tried in IE), if you leave your MeFi music player open with the tab in focus and then open a new window on top of it and do your browsing there it plays fine. You can't minimise it, though.

Yeah, we just need to incorporate the flash player into the activity page views.

I support this potentiality to the fullest.

Yeah, we just need to incorporate the flash player into the activity page views.

That would be great! And true to the title of this post, I listened to all of your songs danb. To my completely untrained ear, the guitar sounded lovely, and the first song is really pretty.
