Is it ok to cross post from Travel to AskMe while Travel is still in alpha?
This post was deleted for the following reason: Poster's Request -- frimble
Sure. Once this is live, travel questions will also show up on the AskMe front page with some indicator that they're also Travel questions.

Of course I have no authority on the subject, but I think that since Travel isn't a true subsite yet (and, as you said, is still in 'alpha') you're safe getting your question out where it will actually be answered. When Travel goes live will questions asked there be included on the front page of AskMe? What about trip reports?

Personally I don't think this is a good idea b-han...there is a slim chance that things could go wrong... horribly wrong.
Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Total protonic reversal.
Don't cross the posts.

Burhanistan: I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the post flow through the site.
Jessamyn: How?
Burhanistan: [hesitates] We'll cross-post the info.
Jessamyn: 'Scuse me Burhanistan? You said crossing the posts was bad!
vronsky: Cross posts...
Jessamyn: You're gonna endanger us, you're gonna endanger our users - the nice ladies, who paid us in advance, before she became a troll...
Burhanistan: Not necessarily. There's definitely a *very slim* chance we'll survive.
[pause while they consider this]
Jessamyn: [slaps vronsky] I love this plan! I'm excited it could work! LET'S DO IT!

Christ, three years into this thing and I'm still a noob?
Please, would someone point me to this travel thing?

Why not automatically populate Travel with AskMe questions in the "travel and transportation" category?

MY eyes! My eyes! I clicked the link to "Travel"l and was shocked by a glaring white page. Surely there is some soothing color that can be applied.

Does a photo linked on Travel have to be from flickr? Because, and you may not know this, but there are other ways to host pictures on the Internet.

That travel thing is a cool idea! When I suggested it two years ago the response was mixed:
