dashiv in new york welcome party

I heard that DaShiv is coming to NYC from September 17 through the 27th. NYC already has his goodbye meetup on the 26th planned. When and where is the big HI DASHIV! meetup?

Revival has my vote. It has upstairs AND out back, no loud music, and if we start in the evening, we'll have it mainly to ourselves.

Revival's worked very well in the past and this isn't going to be the kind of meetup where a creative choice of venues would be appropriate.

despite my previous comment, I would actually greatly like to come to this. But the 21st is the worst possible date for me, as I will be flying to orlando that day. have fun, folks, but if the date changes, please by all means post it here. an earlier date would be aces.

If it's raining, then whoever gets there first can grab as much of the upstairs as possible instead. Which will hardly be relevant, because if it's raining, fewer non-mefites will be going out for a drink and competing with us for space.

One of the largest meetups I ever attended was at Revival, so I don't think space will be an issue. If people will mention in this thread whether or not they plan to go, then I'll be happy to call the bar next week with a rough estimate and see if they'll reserve an area for us or offer us any specials. Considering how few people are usually out drinking at 7pm, they'll most likely bend over backward to accomodate us.

The Ginger Man (which serves food) was the site of the first meetup I attended---although it was on a Sunday; I have no idea how it is on weekends.

I fly out tomorrow! Yay!

But my Monday/Tuesday (17th/18th) night host had a change in his availability, so now I'm making some last minute calls/emails and keeping my fingers crossed that I'll have a place to go once I've landed. Things just got a whole lot more interesting. And perversely amusing.

I've never been; I have a feeling I'm going to like this city. Despite the omens.
