Seacoast NH: Give Me 10cc of Vox, Stat! January 24, 2008 7:55 AM   Subscribe

Impromptu Seacoast NH Meetup? We're getting together for Rock Band this Saturday and Mrs. yerfatma just realized she might be singing for a long time on Saturday night . . .

So if you're going to be near Dover, NH this weekend and can either:

1. Sing
2. Easily convince your semi-inebriated self you were wrong about not being able to sing

You'd be welcomed with open arms. Onlookers and other instrument fans would also be welcomed, but I won't do any stretching in those cases.

Still trying to convince a third Mefi-ite to attend.

BTW, email's in my profile. Didn't feel like posting my address, even though it's probably easily google-able.

Huh, it's not. Thanks technoporn author. And Tommy Makem, unfortunately.

Wish I could, that sounds like a good time. Enjoy.

Make sure you download 'Live Forever' - that song on Expert Drums is like owning a handgun - you feel like a BIG MAN, but really you're not.

If I didn't already have plans for Saturday night, I would so be there. Around these parts, no one gets to play Rock Band unless they sing at least once. Karaoke/Rock Band/Singstar isn't about being good, it's about having a good time. I deeply pity those who don't get that.

What's the point of this .45 then? What if I pair it with 'Live Forever'?

Then you would be everything Noel Gallagher wishes he could be.

I'd be Pete Townsend's brain inside Liam Gallagher's gorgeous body? Watch out kiddies!

Why do you plan this stuff around the holidays and a week before I move? Fucker.

Oh, man - we already made plans to hear another MeFi-connected band that night in Portsmouth. But if anything falls through...

It's an . . . uhm, coincidence? Also, I hate you.

To anyone but Hizzoner, it's not as though I'm eBaying the whole setup on Sunday, so if you're interested in future dates, let me know.

I could do this. It would be insane (90 min drive each way), but then, I haven't attended a meetup in NH yet. And I'm only 2 states shy of having attended a meetup in every state in New England. Connecticut, I'm looking at you next.

So I'm down as a maybe. Could you elaborate a bit? When you say "we", who all is going to be there? What's the schedule of activities (time is important given the length of the drive)? What platform (Wii, XBox, Playstation)? Can I play drums? And if so, may I?

About 7-9 people, including the two linked in the post. The rest are friends of mine. Show up anytime after 7. Last time ran until 4:30 the next morning, but I can't see that happening. X-Box 360, you're welcome to the drums (we only have 2 people who are familiar with them). Overnight lodging with off-street parking available at reasonable rates.

I can sing but I don't really understand what this is all about.

If that Rock Band game had any Darkthrone on it, I'd be there in second, but since it don't, yer safe from me.

I don't really understand what this is all about.

Hard to explain exactly. This is as good a start as I can come up with. And this Mefi thread.

Sounds like fun! I have two conflicting sets of plans, plus a move-in to pack for, so I will have to see if I can feasibly do anything that weekend. Suffice to say, I am totally up for it in the future, if I can't make this one.

Thanks for the invite!

Oh, I get it now. Fascinating, but NH is a little far away for me.

Due to an unforseen cold, I'll be staying home with a bottle of NyQuil tonight. Thanks again for the invite!
