Jon Armstrong (Mr. Dooce) gives Metafilter a shout out at 20:20 on SLC's ABC affiliate.

That link didn't take me directly to the video, but this one does. I read dooce for a really long time, but this was the first I've seen or heard her. Thanks for the link.

Metafilter: links to cool things, especially links to obscure news stories and strange cultural things.

The catch there is that nobody watches the ABC affiliate here.

Wait, there's television in Utah?

"Wait, there's television in Utah?"

Only during LDS General Conference.

And even then it's usually rained out.

Thanks for pointing this out, mecran. I LOVE dooce and I LOVE metafilter. It is a fine day in my house when these two come together. I am about thirteen minutes into the clip and still waiting to hear about US from HER husband. It's a small world after all.

I think Dooce and her hubby need to be Metafilter members. If they aren't already.

Twenty minutes in and John mentions Metafilter as one of his "favs" to read. I KNEW there was a reason that Heather B. married this self-proclaimed nerdy guy. Well, other than his obvious good looks and near unending patience with his wife. He likes us! He really, really likes us!

Patience is obviously a well-held, John Armstrong, virtue.

Probably should check that out on his blog though.

My girlfriend and I read Dooce every day for the dog pictures, if for no other reason.

They can totally pony up the $5 each for a membership. I would love to see more AskMe questions about unruly dogs or ornery toddlers.

That would be wonderful, konalia. But if you knew Dooce, like EYE know Dooce, you would know she is entirely too busy being neurotic, not to mention funnier than all get out.

This woman makes me laugh heartily with nearly every new post. Her site is a daily go-to for me.

I thought she commented in the original thread where everyone debated her getting fired for blogging?

Wait, there's Internet in Utah? And bloggers?

I am going to take this to another place, just for now.

Are there other Dooce lovers out there?

I know we all have our unique senses of humor, and that one person might process with outright laughter while another processes with a pair of rolling eyes. But once you got those that laugh daily at Heather's blog in the same room, and watching that same video...What did you think about "our girl"?

While ABC4.com is not PRIME prime time, the move from ultra-successful blogging to MSM is never to be taken lightly.

This is someone that I personally would like to see make the "jump".

Pretend this is an AskME question, only in Metatalk of course, with the NORMAL RULES applying, sorta.

Might also help if we imagine this as "Metafilter-Hive Wisdom - Gone Wild". But hey, now I am getting bossy. That will NEVER do.;)

I though the set in the background was going to fall down halfway through the interview. That interviewer seems to pride himself on being a dumbass.

Just a bit, iconomy, course I am not alone. On this show it said she gets 4 million page views a month. In just three minutes, I can get a hearty laugh from her writing, PLUS see a wonderful new picture of her dog, Chuck, which satisfies my need for a little morning awww. It's just what I need after reading the news.

I'm a fan of the Daily Chuck. Frankly, I'm just a sucker for pictures of dogs balancing stuff on their heads. Sorry, dogs.

The guy who interviewed them is the son of Sander Vanocur.

Put THAT obscure reference in your pipe and smoke it!

Hey, d'you guys get a hint that Heather may have optioned a movie about her life? I mean, I assume she has a memoir in the works, but I thought she hinted at a movie in this post. I hope Tina Fey and Ed Helms play her & Jon. Although the Armstrongs are beanpoles and Fey & Helms are oompa-loompa short, so probly it'd be Uma Thurman and Kevin Kline. Holy dang, I am a NERD, why am I thinking about this.
