I couldn't find it on mefi, but I swear I saw it here, as well as a million jillion other blogs a few weeks ago.

You know, I'm getting a little Astro Zombie fatigue at this point. Not a lot, mind you; just a little.

What is the site that shall not be named? Can you allude to it without naming it, so thick headed people like me can figure it out?

No.
Oh, it's so lame to tease people like this: I am made of pure faux-elitist shit, a big pile of it. I'm piling up so much poop, I'm gonna have to come up with some sort of filing system or something.

All the jokes about "the site that shall not be named" are less than clever than annoying.

They're talking about FilePile, which for some reason got this huge half-joking conspiracy of silence about it after it turned into an account-only system. Which is peculiar, because of course everybody had heard of it already in the days before you had to make accounts.
I guess the selection of various warez is supposed to be fancier now than it was in those days, or something. HTTP file sharing has sort of gone the way of the dodo with the advent of TBP and isohunt anyway.

Don't thank me, thank levelator!
Yay! Speaking of, I think I know my way around Garageband well enough to walk you through an easy-as-pie per-track compression setup on this sucker now, though if the results from Levelator are satisfying enough that may be a moot point.

Yeah, I find that incredibly annoying. Even Wikipedia is part of the conspiracy; on the talk page for FilePile.com, I asked "Why is there no mention of Filepile.org on Wikipedia?" and got the smirking answer "Perhaps it lacks notability." Sure, asshole.

Thanks levelator! Made listening a lot easier and even when Jessamyn was yelling at cortex (totally justified by the way) it didn't hurt my eardrums. So much better.

Ahhh, I KNEW there was something different about the volume levels! I already sent through an email on the contact form saying that this was the first episode I could actually hear on my daily commute, and to keep doing whatever it was you did differently. I'm relieved to know there actually *was *some technological solution, and I don't have a weird hearing problem where I'm unable to distinguish mathowie's vocal frequency from the din of traffic.
